Charitable Work

Our school is proud to support a wide range of charities at local, national and global level, reflecting our commitment to living out Catholic Social Teaching in meaningful and practical ways. Through our charitable work, pupils are encouraged to recognise the dignity of every person, act in solidarity with others and work towards the common good.

At a national level, we support organisations such as Macmillan Cancer Support, NSPCC and Marie Curie. These charities help pupils to understand the importance of caring for the vulnerable and respecting human dignity. Events such as our Macmillan Coffee Morning, held in partnership with our parish, bring the community together in support of those affected by cancer, while our much-loved Pyjamarama Day in aid of the NSPCC allows children to actively engage in fundraising in a fun and meaningful way.

Locally, we are deeply committed to supporting our own community. Through food bank collections, food vouchers and Christmas hampers, we put into action the Catholic Social Teaching principles of the preferential option for the poor and stewardship. Our close partnership with the St Vincent de Paul Society and our shared parish food bank initiative ensure that we can respond directly to the needs of families in our community. Alongside this, we have also led a Fairtrade drive during our food bank collections, helping pupils to understand the dignity of work and the importance of fair wages and working conditions. By choosing Fairtrade products, pupils learn that their actions can support workers and farmers across the world, ensuring they are treated with respect and justice.
